Sposaitalia Collezioni interviews Mohammed Al Haj

Find out how Mohammad found his passion for fashion and what accessories should or should not wear.

As Sposaitalia puts it: “In the heart of Dubai is situated a studio that sells wedding dresses from the Arabian Nights. We are talking about Contessa Bridal, the place where luxury combines with refinement. The one who makes dreams came true is Mohammed Al Haj. During his seven years of experience in bridal fashion consulting, Mohammad traveled extensively in countries such as France, Spain, and the United States to select the finest quality clothes, meeting designers like Pnina Tornai, Ines Di holy and Reem Acra.”

How did your passion for fashion, especially the one for women, was born?
Actually, it started when my sister asked me to get into the business of wedding dresses in Contessa Atelier. It was a great feeling when I helped for the first time a bride to choose the right wedding gown. The choice of the perfect outfit may be a real obstacle.

How do you complete the look of the bride and what accessories you consider essential for the wedding day?
It depends on the bride’s look and dress, but personally, speaking from experience, brides do not need veil, tiara, earrings, necklace and belt to be perfect because they will be already radiant on the Big Day. It is true that the accessories add a unique touch to the look, but sometimes they can be too over-the-top with an already embellished dress. But for traditional marriage, I would recommend a veil that will complete the bridal look.

What do you expect to find in this new edition of Sì Sposaitalia Collections?
I cannot wait to discover the new trends in the bridal industry, as well as emerging designers who have great growth potential in the Middle East region. I hope to find the most colorful clothes and special embellishments such as 3D flowers.
